The Cloister
an artist led cultural hub
We are very lucky to share our cloister with some incredible community groups, artists, and musicians. Our dream is to create a cultural hub where artists are free to express their vision and creativity without the burden of finding and funding performance venues, rehearsal and studio spaces.
We were blessed to welcome Oddaný Gallery last year,
who drive much of this creative energy and rhythm.
The church also hosts performances and take external bookings for groups utilising the cloister on a regular basis. See our bookings page for more.
Featured Artists
We are Oddaný, a gallery and artist run collective dreamed up in the formation of a friendship. A series of long conversations had between Porto and Prague, about how to be a person, how to be an artist, and how, ultimately, to love each other.
Oddaný Gallery acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we operate on, the unceded sovereign land of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin nation. We pay all our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
We are founded on one core principle, which we believe to be of the greatest kind of devotion: We refuse a separation between art and life.
So we invite you to share the space with us, a space for gentle love and artistic exchange, of the formal and the informal, if there is to be such a distinction. A space where what we owe to each other, means that needs and obligations are balanced well, so that our roots may grow to be strong.
We are artist-run, interdependent, local; devoted to the task of building a space that can be shared well.
